SEVEN ARROWS~
Since one of my blog readers has told me she couldn't wait to get ahold of a few books I've mentioned here, I'm going to share my absolutely favorite Native-American resource with the internet. (Okay, the few of you who wander by.) My all-time favorite book that reads like the Native-American bible (for lack of a better analogy) minus the boring dry storytelling is Hyemeyohsts Storm's SEVEN ARROWS. This book's teachings about the ideology of Plains cultures is so beautiful that I recommend it to anyone who ever wondered about medicine wheels and the Native-American world. Mind you, it deals solely with Plains cultures. You won't forget the message.
H. Storm defines what makes up his religion in the opening, then tells a story to reiterate a person facing issues in daily life and dealing with them based on this ideological system. And this book is loaded with incredible black-and-white photography of days lost to us... of the people and places lost to us. ~Skhye
