NUMEROLOGY: your character & future revealed in numbers

Norman Shine's NUMEROLOGY: YOUR CHARACTER AND FUTURE REVEALED IN NUMBERS was too much fun for a person formally educated in hard and soft science. I truly enjoyed seeing what the numbers said about me and those close to me. Setting up my Time Guardians story world involved years of studying astrology, Tarot, and numerology. I find numerology is the basic foundation for these different methods of understanding life in the evolution of Western thought. My characters live by it! The rest is top secret.

Shine's book begins with you learning to break down your given name into a value. Married women can see the difference between their maiden and married names as well. But what value? Think DUNE and the word the people say that's full of power... something like Mwadibe (excuse my spelling). Norman Shine operates on that same philosophy. Your name defines your resonance in the universe. Seriously! Your name's value (a # between 1-9) indicates whether you are creative, logical, materialistic, or spiritual. There are actually 9 values. Shine doesn't even get into Master numbers. I do have a book on Master numbers and will note it soon.

I really became interested in looking at my life cycle's values. Shine shows how famous people had 18-year cycles in their lives. Me, I injured my back at 18 and finally couldn't take the pain anymore at 36. So, I had back surgery. Coincidence? I don't know. The scientist in me wants to say yes...

This book is a bit overwhelming the first time you try to crunch your name, known name, or birth date value. I remember thinking the process was going to kill me like a year of calculus tried to do! But the second time I crunched something, it was a snap. If you pick this book up, you'll have so much fun analyzing everyone (okay, maybe I'm being a the geeky scientist and testing Shine's system) that you won't be able to stop! ~Skhye
