SPACE TRAVEL~

Ben Bova and Anthony R Lewis teamed up in SPACE TRAVEL: A WRITER'S GUIDE TO THE SCIENCE OF INTERPLANETARY AND INTERSTELLAR TRAVEL. This writer's book is as much fun to read as TIME TRAVEL, another publication in the Writer's Digest Books Science Fiction Writing Series. Okay, I admit I'm a geek. I've got that plastered on most of my websites just so the casual surfer doesn't think I don't realize this.

I used this book to check a few points in my time-travel series since my Time Guardians evolve in the future on other planets but return through time travel to study earth history. However, the mechanics aren't as scientific as one would expect. I'll blame that on the blasted fairies who have technology humans refer to as magic that allows them to transport time travelers through time and across space. My series truly crosses most genres, especially sci-fi and fantasy here. The Ring Masters of the male time-travel order use the science in their time of origin to study magic... Post-Modern alchemy is what it's called. And they dead reckon often when time traveling with Post-Modern alchemy and Astrofolklore. Astrofolklore is defined on my glossary page at
www.timeguardians.com. I'll nix my tangent here.

I'll list the chapters of SPACE TRAVEL:

  • Dreams into space
  • In orbit
  • Living and working in space
  • Space industries
  • Space habitats
  • The moon
  • Advanced spacecraft
  • The solar system
  • The stars
  • Starships
  • The universe
  • Legal aspects
  • Military uses of space

Check out this book for an interesting read of any one of these issues dealing with space travel.

P.S. I think I caught all the *^$#! +*  ^&$# typos! If anything still doesn't make sense, leave me a comment with your question. I'll reply when my toddler is asleep, i.e. not screaming at me.

Sounds great Skhye. I'll have to try to get hold of this on, I already have Ben Bova's 'Craft of Writing Science Fiction'. Thanks for these reference guides.

If you're a geek, so am I. I have both these as well as some fantasy, horror and mystery books. I think I collect books just to collect them.
